𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐨

Original, in Japan, hospitality industry was managed only by men. During the centennial of the Takayama Ryokan Inn association, is was realized there were still no women so Omotenadeshiko was founded because we wanted women to play a more active role in this business. There are 12 people in the association. This year is the seventh year. We do a variety of things from PR activities to meeting, business trips and most important there are many opportunities to interact directly with customers. We also cooperate with the local authorities and the Mayor himself or tourism department or administration to promote Takayama. We are also always researching Takayama to provide the best information and support to our customers and clients

Every one of us has her own job in addition to being part of Omotenadeshiko. Sometime it is difficult to manage our schedule to make time for the association.

As the corona emergency started slowed down a little, it seems that customers are slowly coming back. Many people have said that Takayama nature is beautiful and they really enjoy all the attractions here. I think now it is a good time to rethink about Takayama strong points and built up from there to promote tourism again.

Recently, the number of repeat customers for hotel, restaurants and guesthouses has been increasing. As soon as we reopened, our customers got in touch with us asking when they might come to Takayama again. To think there are fan of Associa hotel despite this situation makes me happy.

Hida Hotel Plaza is restarting from July, so as far as I can see, the customers who have made reservations, the repeat customers who has come before and the number of customers who come from within the prefecture have been increasing. I often go to business trips to Osaka, Yokohama, Tokyo, etc. for work and no matter who I speak with they always share their love for Takayama. I hope this emergency will calm soon so gradually customers will be safe to travel again and come back to Takayama.

We reopened the Hotel from the first day of June. During the closing time we directly contacted the customers to inform them about our schedule. I was happy and surprised that we received many warm messages from our customers. They kept expressing their love for Takayama and for Green Hotel. I was moved. In addition, I would like to personally wish to thank all the members from Omotenadeshiko for this newly created bond that is helping all of us to make a lot of new connections and to work more closely to our customers.

I was really happy that, in spite not formally reaching our customers during the close period, they checked our schedule and then booked again with us after we reopened on June 19. I was really grateful. I was often worried about how to contact them because the uncertainty the corona emergency put us in, but seeing all those reservations really made us happy. I hope this situation will calm down little by little so that we will be back to normal.

Because of the corona emergency, I think it's a good time to stop and think how to improve while adapting to this emergency. I realized the importance of our customers and I am willing to make my best to have them rediscover the beauty of Takayama. ・Ginkgo tree, near Kokubunji temple has been alive for 1300 years now. Looking at it makes you relax and feel like you can be healed just by looking at it during difficult times.
・Enagogawa river is surrounded by beautiful nature and you can see cherry blossoms in spring as well as red autumn leaves in autumn
・Teramachi
・Asahimachi: being able to talk with people there while eating local dishes, drink recommended sake, and meet Takayama locals enjoying their time is this lively district is something you have to try!.
・Cafes that have the traditional atmosphere of Takayama are very nice.
・There is an old, small temple of Fudō myō-ō near Miyagawa river, and there is a sculpture of Fudō myō-ō inside it. I think it's a good place that makes you at peace.
・Street food. The food in Takayama is delicious. The atmosphere of Takayama as a whole is very nice. Walking around the town is very nice and makes you feel like you are traveling back in time.
