Takuminoyakata Aquarium in the Forest (photo)

This aquarium is inside a farmhouse which was built in 1882 and recreates nature-rich streams. Visitors can see more than 3,000 rare freshwater fish such as gigantic iwana (chars) which we cannot see very often even in Hida, and endangered kajika (sculpins) and one-meter long gigantic itou (Sakhalin taimens) which only exist in northern Hokkaido.
