Akigami White Birch Native Forest (photo)

"Shirakanba" white birch trees are found both in forests where trees have fallen and plateaus in northern Gifu Prefecture. Their white bark is unique and causes the trees to look pure. Most of the trees in this forest are native or naturally-grown and are known for their density. They grow close together and are very straight. (Designated as a prefectural nature conservation area.)
