Important Notice regarding JR Takayama Line Service Disruption

Train service between Sugihara Station and Inotani Station will be suspended for a considerable period of time.

On March 17, a safety inspection revealed that one of the bridge piers between Sugihara Station and Inotani Station on the JR Takayama Line has been compromised. Due to river currents eroding the foundation, the bridge's stability has decreased.

As a result, train services from Sugihara Station to Inotani Station are currently suspended, and some trains are cancelled. It is expected to take at least two months before operations can fully resume.

Local Trains & Substitute Bus Service Details

Local Trains & Substitute Bus Service: Local trains are still operating. For the suspended section between Sugihara Station and Inotani Station, a substitute bus service is available.

Schedule Adjustments: Because bus travel is subject to road conditions and potential delays, the departure and arrival times for local trains at Takayama Station have been modified.

Capacity Limits: Please be aware that the substitute buses have limited seating. If a bus reaches its maximum capacity, you may not be able to board.
