Matsumoto Family Residence

The 1875 fire burned 1,032 buildings including temples and townhouses, but the fire missed the Matsumoto Residence since it is located at the edge of the city. It is one of the most famous typical merchant houses in Takayama. It is the oldest and most invaluable building in the city.
