Takayama Festival
| Held twice a year, on April 14/15 andon October 9/10, this festival is considered to rank among the three mostbeautiful festivals in Japan. During the festival, this quiet country town changes magically as flags, lanterns, and dyed draperies decorate the houses. The highlight of the festival is a parade of majestic floats and ancient puppets.
