Takayama Information Desk(TID)

Welcome to Takayama

Since Takayama declared itself an "International Tourism City" in 1986, the city has actively worked towards improving its services for visitors, including providing more information for our guests and improving tourism related facilities to make their stay a more meaningful and enjoyable one.

In 1990, Takayama introduced a system of TID (Takayama Information Desk) tooffer information such as sightseeing, accommodation, festivals, and so on, to visitors from abroad. At TIDs, you may also find a person who will help you in finding locations and places to visit as well giving you necessary information on Takayama.

Locations of TIDs and information and services you can get are listed in this site. Please feel free to stop in at any of the 12 TIDs. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact the Takayama City International Affairs Office at City Hall. The telephone number is 35-3130.

Once again, welcome to Takayama! We are happy that you have chosen to visit our beautiful town: we are confident you'll find the people warm, the surroundings beautiful, and that your stay in Takayama will be a pleasant one.
